From the entry to the backyard this home is a perfect example of how to achieve “flow” or an overall cohesive design plan . Design firm Pal + Smith used the color palette of aqua, green, and brown and then accented with pops of yellow. Note how you will see different combinations of the scheme in each room while the eclectic blend of furnishings, art, and accessories infuse the spaces with depth and interest. Some personal favorites are the retro phones, the upstairs lounge, and the swoon-worthy bedroom above.

Imagine celebrating the last glorious days of summer with a picnic brunch by a glistening body of water. Now pump it up quite a few notches. Who wouldn’t love arriving to the spot in this gorgeous cherry red woody style ride with a coordinating pull along camper? Yes! Please! Upon arrival the back door opens to reveal a fold down table and an exotic red umbrella goes up while soft blankets, velvet pillows, and striped chairs are placed to provide plenty of lounging opportunities. And to take it even further, the interior is sporting a red and green eclectic cottage vibe right down to the dishes, conveniently stored in the back window rack. Fresh flowers from the field add a finishing touch to the idyllic experience. Love+Envy!

Can one successfully combine Industrial, Victorian, Baroque, and Modern styles, just to name a few? You be the judge. This extremely eclectic home designed by Kingston Lafferty Design in Dublin, Ireland does just that. Modern style rules in the dining and lounge areas while the living room, study, and bedrooms all give a nod to the past. The outdoor areas are just as intriguing as the interior with the mix of greens, blues, and varied furniture styles. I say the blend works. What’s your verdict?

This trio of adorable fairy lit treehouses were built by architect and environmentalist Peter Bahouth to serve as a “fort for grown-ups”. The houses, linked by swinging bridges, are named “Mind”, “Body”, and “Spirit” and feature a living room and a bedroom with a bed that slides out to offer a better view of the surrounding forest. Where is this magical land you may ask? In the forested backyard of Bahouth’s Atlanta home. My only question is, no bathroom? For a more detailed article on the structures click here.
