Interior Inspiration: Art

Lacking focus for a color scheme in a room re-do? Let your choice of art do the work for you. The most successful rooms are almost always the result of finding the “inspiration piece”.  Find a painting or print that you love and you’re halfway there. If you don’t have a big budget search flea markets, thrift shops, yard sales, and, my all time favorite, Goodwill. If you are artistic, paint your own, if not, frame pre-made posters or papers.

One thing to keep in mind, balance a strong art piece with another strong element like a graphic rug, dark furniture, or varied textures to prevent the artwork from “taking over” the room or space. Here are excellent examples of how furnishings, rugs, and accessories were all drawn from the hues present in wall decor.    pb

  1. Beautiful. But I don’t like the way one is just leant against the wall… looks like someone planned to hang it and got bored.

And, the one attached to the door. Just looks messy imo.

  2. My partner and I stumbled over here by a different website and thought I may as well check things out. I like what I see so now i’m following you. Look forward to checking out your web page for a second time.
