Design: Caroline Herrera Baez

The Madrid home of Caroline Herrera Baez features a pleasant blend of fabrics and some surprising finishing touches such as the pink linen walls trimmed in nailheaded jute and the entry that mixes suzani and gingham. I also loved the role that ticking plays in the home, from wall covering (a great idea for renters) to upholstery, Herrera Baez shows how the use of an inexpensive fabric can stretch the budget. The dining room also serves as a library and why not have a 19th Bergere in the kitchen? It gives a cozy, warm vibe to a sometimes sterile room. A lovely mix.   pb
