Would You Paint Your Cat?

Although this book has been out for awhile, I just ran across ‘Why Paint Cats:The Ethics of Feline Aesthetics‘ by Burton Silver and Heather Busch, a publication that has stirred up quite a bit of controversy and debate. The book features an array of painted cats and is receiving very mixed reviews, most of which I read applauded it as hilarious. It was mainly intended to poke fun at people that are so obsessed with their cats and the lengths they will go to so their favorite feline stands out among the crowd and also to create debate about pet aesthetics. Before you reach for your PETA membership card please note, all of these were created with Photoshop, so no feline was harmed. I just know that if I ever considered painting one of my little darlings I would end up with a trip to the emergency room. When they don’t want you to do something to them, you don’t.     pb
