Loft Eclectic

12Feb13

Eric Shiner, Director for the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was more than thrilled to return to his hometown for his dream job. He has taken this loft in an 1940 building that has housed an auto shop, bakery, and ballet studio to new eclectic heights. As discussed in an earlier post, Interior Inspiration: Art, Shiner did the same, his inspiration for the loft was Ain Cocke’s oil painting above featuring Jackie Kennedy holding Oswald’s rifle, a beautiful yet somewhat unsettling choice. Upon finding his inspiration, Shiner decorated the space within 48 hours of moving in. Filled with art, furnishings, and objet collected from world travels, the space is an energetic, exciting and yet welcoming home.    pb
