Rustic Redefined
This stunning home, La Muna, is located in the exclusive Red Mountain area of Aspen, Colorado and features some of the most breathtaking views of the area. The renovation and minor addition to an existing home was the work of Oppenheim Architecture + Design. and reflects the “Japanese sensibility of wabi sabi”. The firm used reclaimed wood, stone, and steel to reduce the effect on natural resources. and “merge effortlessly with its idyllic surroundings of forest, stream and mountain”. “Solar collectors provide needed energy for power and hot water, while extremely large operable panels of insulated glass blur the boundaries between inside and out– further enforcing a connection and deep respect of place.” Don’t miss the moss wall in the dining area and glorious bathroom amid all of the other fabulousness. pb

Wow, what a stunning piece of architecture. The mixture of rustic materials with the modern design really works well and I love that piece of living art. Stunning!
I also loved the living art and am trying to find how to recreate in my home. Thanks!
